Study Tour in Daqing and Northeast Petroleum University

Daqing is one of the National Civilized Cities and Charming Cities in China. Daqing is beautifully situated in a traffic hub, which is known as the City of Green Oil, the City of Natural Hundreds Lake and the Township of the Beiguo Hot Spring”. Daqing is where the Daqing Oilfield, the largest oilfield in China and one of the ten largest oilfields in the world, is located. It is a famous industrial city taking petroleum industry and petrochemical industry as its pillar industry.

Culture experience

Free culture experience courses are arranged in the afternoons from Monday to Friday, including calligraphy, paper cutting, Tai Chi and tea art, etc. Additionally, colorful extracurricular language practice activities including visiting petroleum companies, city sightseeing, Oil Field History Museum, Daqing Oil Science and Technology Museum, museums will be organized in good time. Activities such as short journeys will be arranged on weekends, and students may participate in them at their own expense voluntarily.

Daqing Oil Field Co., Ltd.

Daqing Oil Field Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Daqing Oil Field Co.) is a wholly-owned subsidiary subordinated to the China National Petroleum Corporation and a state share-holding extra-large enterprise with the exploration and development of petroleum and natural gas as the main business. Its scope of business mainly covers exploration & development, engineering technology, engineering construction, production insurance, equipment manufacturing, oilfield chemicals, mining services and other business segments. It has a relatively complete business system and compound integrate advantage.

Oil Field History Museum, Daqing

Oil Field History Museum, Daqing, in memory of Iron Man Wang Jinxi, is the first worker memorial hall in China. Themed on “patriotism, entrepreneurship, truth-seeking, dedication-the soul of oil”, the museum area covers an area of 11.6 hectares, and the main building area is 21,500 square meters. The exhibition hall covers an area of 4,790 square meters, with 1,780 items on display.

Daqing Iron Man Wang Jinxi Memorial Hall is subject to CNPC Daqing Oilfield Co., Ltd., which was founded in 1971. The new museum opened on September 26, 2006, on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the discovery of Daqing Oilfield, and Premier Wen Jiabao personally inscribed the name of the museum. Now it is a national first-class museum, a National Demonstration Bases for Patriotism Education, a national top ten excellent exhibitions, a Chinese petroleum enterprise spirit education base, Daqing Oilfield enterprise spirit education base, and a clean government education base in Daqing City.

Daqing Oil Science and Technology Museum

Daqing Oil Science and Technology Museum is located in the east of Chuangyedadao in Ranghulu District and 500 meters south of Shijidadao, which echoes the main building of Daqing Oilfield Co., Ltd. at distance. The main building area is 54,000 square meters, and the exhibition area is 35,000 square meters. The graphic design and square pool are designed as the logo of CNPC. The interior is mainly composed of Sunshine Hall, Preface Hall, 8 permanent exhibition halls and 1 temporary exhibition hall. Focus is put on displaying the development history of scientific and technological innovation, technological progress in exploration and development and supporting engineering technology in the past 50 years since the discovery of Daqing Oilfield. With outstanding subject, rich content, advanced means, dynamic and static combination and perfect functions, it is a large-scale modern professional science and technology museum that reflects the subject matter of petroleum science and technology.

Daqing Oil Cube

The Oil Pavilion is located in the south of Daqing Hotel, Sartu District, Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, adjacent to the No.9 Courtyard Hotel and across the road from Wanda Plaza, Sartu. The Oil Pavilion covers a total area of 4,000 square meters with a building area of 6,190 square meters. The exhibition of the Pavilion includes the contents of petroleum’s role in human history and urban development, 4D movies and resident performances, etc. Daqing Oil Pavilion will be one of the important tourist attractions in Daqing City, which conveys the concept of teaching through lively activities, and displays the charm of petroleum civilization with cultural vision.

Besides the rich “connotation”, the Oil Pavilion also has rich “expressions”. After nightfall, you can see that dozens of different models and patterns, such as beam-pumping units, oil, extending city dreams and iron man statues, will change on the outer wall of the Oil Pavilion in the sunset, with abundant “expressions”. In addition, if you can climb the TV Tower at this moment and look down from the sky, you may also see the signs of CNPC’s yellow and red stone flower in the square outside the Oil Pavilion. This is also the unique design after the Oil Pavilion was relocated to Daqing.

After the Oil Pavilion is moved to Daqing city, the inner exhibition of the Oil Pavilion in Daqing, in which some elements related to Daqing have been added, is different from that of the oil pavilion in the World Expo. Here in the Oil Pavilion in Daqing, we can not only see the expo mascot-"oil baby " and 4D filmOil Dream,but also can enjoy the performance ofOil Show,showing the prosperity of the oil industry and other industries in Daqing.

Daqing Oil Field Exhibition Hall

Daqing Oil Field Exhibition Hall, the first original site exhibition hall that takes the oil industry as a theme, is the culture relic protection site in Heilongjiang Province. Integrating the functions of education, exhibition, studying, tourism and people-oriented services, Daqing Oil Field Exhibition Hall becomes the significant base to display the culture of Daqing Oil Field and presence of the oil workers. The exhibition hall also serves as a base of patriotic education, a window to show the corporate image, a site to implement historical studies on oil field, a platform of excellent culture exchanges, a place to cherish the memory of our oil ancestors and a tourism, recreation and sightseeing spot.

Song Ji Well 3

Song Ji Well 3 is the earliest producing well of Daqing Oilfield. At the beginning, a “drilling completion and oil injection monument of Song Ji Well 3” was built beside the well, which was designated as the key protection unit in 1986 and was renamed as “Song Ji Well 3 Memorial Site” after the rebuilding in 1999. It is set on the platform with the height of 0.9 meter. In the east side of the platform stands the subsea tree in big roman type adopted in Song Ji Well 3. The subsea tree has three 3-inch tubes, green tubes and red throttle valves hand wheels. Two of the 3-inch tubes are horizontally arranged and the rest one of that is vertically arranged. There are 6 throttle valves in total installed on the three 3-inch tubes.

On the west side of the Christmas tree, a “Song Ji Well 3” monument was built with irregular hexahedron Kairan granite of 30 tons, referring to that it was built on the 30^th anniversary of the discovery concerning the Daqing Oilfield. The monument looks like a crouching tiger, facing east, which represents that the oil industry of China is flourishing and thriving like the red sun in the east. The front of the monument is inscribed with “Daqing Oilfield Discovery Well – Songji Sanjing”, and the back is inscribed with the inscription on the well drilling process of Songji Sanjing. In addition, on both sides, schematic diagrams of oil sand bodies, celebratory lanterns and showings erupting from the wellhead are inscribed. The monument is located on a two-layer mortared granite stonemonument base, with the upper monument base being higher in the north and lower in the south, as well as the lower monument base being approximately elliptical in plane and small pebbles inlaid on the plane, which implies the temperament and character of Daqing oil workers who are working hard, preserving and daring to overcome any difficulties. Moreover, on the front and back of the lower monument base, a marble monument is inlaid with the names of some scientists who have made contributions to the discovery of the Daqing Oilfield.

1. Tuition and miscellaneous fees: RMB 3000 for 2-week class, RMB 6000 for 4-week class (including tuition, registration fee, teaching material fee, data fee, event fee, management fee, etc.)
