On July 12, Qi Zhala, Vice Chairman of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress, led a research team from the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) to our University to carry out research on building a strong sense of community among the Chinese nation. Shi Jiaxing, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress and deputy director of the Committee for Overseas Chinese, Chen Hongwei, director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress, Wang Yanru, Minister of United Front of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress, Luan Ying, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress, Zhu Qingxia, deputy mayor of the Municipal government and other relevant leaders accompanied the investigation. Party Secretary Fu Xiaofei, President Jiang Minghu, Secretary Wang Shusen of Discipline Inspection Commission, Vice President Dong Hongli, Vice President Zhang Yazhi and heads of relevant functional departments participated in the investigation.

The research team visited the Daqing Spirit Education Exhibition Hall and Unconventional Oil and Gas Research Institute of our university. Some leaders of the research group watched the rehearsal of the national unity and progress program Pomegranate Seed House jointly prepared by our school and Daqing City.

Over the years, the school has always adhered to Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as its guidance, adhered to the socialist school direction, fully implemented the Party's education policy, took "strengthing a strong sense of the Chinese nation community" as the main line of national work, and "joint unity and struggle, common prosperity and development" as the theme of national work. Our university integrates the creation of national unity and progress into the whole process of running and educating people, and explores the formation of a working model of ideological guidance, value-oriented, humanistic care, dynamic management and mechanism guarantee of the "five strengthened five integrated". The school's national unity and progress has made remarkable progress, and has been approved as a demonstration unit for ethnic unity and progress in the province. In the next step, according to the suggestions of the research group, our university will mark and present the relevant requirements of countries and provinces on the work of ethnic unity, fully carry forward the educational characteristics of Daqing Spirit, strengthen ethnic unity, implement the consciousness of forging the Chinese nation community into the whole process of education, and steadily promote the work of ethnic unity and progress of the university and strive to become a national demonstration unit of ethnic unity and progress.
