On November 16, Clarivate released the list of global "highly cited scientists" in 2021.Professor Dong Hongli of Northeast Petroleum University has been selected as a global "highly cited scientist" in engineering discipline for 6 consecutive years, and Professor Pan Zhejun, a full-time internationally renowned scholar introduced by our university , has also been selected as a global "highly cited scientist" in interdisciplinary discipline for the first time.

According to the number of highly cited papers published during the 11-year period from January 2010 to December 2020, more than 6,600 scientists were selected from 21 disciplines in the natural and social sciences as well as interdisciplinary fields. Among them, 3,774 were from specific disciplines and 2,828 were from interdisciplinary fields. A total of 935 people from the Chinese mainland were selected.The selection method is based on the data analysis conducted by the bibliometric experts of Clarivate Institute of Scientific Information, using InCites and ESI, and is specially formulated according to the scientific research performance indicators and trend data based on the number of academic papers published and Web of Science citation data.Web of Science is the world's largest and most trusted publishing independent citation index database and research information platform.

Dong Hongli: Humboldt Scholar, director of Heilongjiang Provincial Key Laboratory of Networked and Intelligent Control, leader of Heilongjiang Province Pattern Recognition and Intelligent System Leading Talent Echelon.She is mainly engaged in the research of networked control system, intelligent control, sensor network information processing and other fields. She has published 3 monographs in Chinese and English, and more than 100 papers in SCI journals.She has presided over more than 10 national projects such as the National Science Foundation for Outstanding Youth, and has been awarded the National May 1 Labor Medal and the Youth Science and Technology Outstanding Contribution Award by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation.

Pan Zhejun: professor, doctoral supervisor. executive editor of the international SCI Journal of Natural Gas Science and Engineering.He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Zhejiang University and his doctorate from Oklahoma State University.He was previously Senior Principal Scientist and Director of the Unconventional Reservoir Engineering Laboratory at CSIRO, Australia.His main research fields include: unconventional oil and gas geology and development, experimental and mechanism research of oil and gas occurrence and flow in unconventional reservoirs, unconventional oil and gas production prediction, gas injection to enhance unconventional oil and gas recovery and technology and theoretical research of CO2 storage in unconventional reservoirs.More than 190 SCI papers have been published, the total number of SCI citations is more than 8800, and the H-Index is 50.
