The fourth incoPat New Technology Search Competition -- the Final of "Future IP Experts College Elite Competition" -- has come to a successful conclusion recently to improve teachers and students' awareness of intellectual property rights, enhance practical ability and improve innovative information search skills. Our school made great achievements in this competition: graduate students Wang Xiao, Han Jicheng and other 5 students won the first prize; Ji Hui, Zhang Guoxu and other 10 students won the second prize; Zheng Ziyue, Wang Zhenli and 26 other students won the third prize; Northeast Petroleum University won the "Excellent Organization Unit" award, and Professor Jin Qiuying won the "Excellent Advisor" award. The number of winners in our school ranks first among all participating units.

It is reported that the competition is sponsored by Beijing Hexiang Intelligent Technology Co., LTD., Kerivian, co-sponsored by our university and 143 universities such as Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, China University of Petroleum (East China). The competition lasts for more than one month. Since its inception, all competitions have been completed by online answering method. Compared with the previous competition, the number and scale of the competition increased significantly, attracting 11,542 teachers and students from more than 410 universities to participate in the preliminary selection, a total of 3,155 contestants qualified for the final. With the careful organization of our school library (National Intellectual Property Information Service Center) and the strong support of all the teachers and students, 111 contestants made it to the final, and 41 contestants stood out in the final and achieved excellent results.

Our school attaches great importance to students' intellectual property related knowledge and retrieval teaching. Since the second contest in 2020, the school library (National Intellectual Property Information Service Center) has actively organized teachers and students to participate in various kinds of search contest activities. In 2022, we set up a teacher guidance team led by Jin Qiuying and Zhou Yunxia, and invested a lot of time and energy in building an IP competition group, focusing on online learning training, experience exchange and answering questions and puzzles for students, and constantly encouraging students to overcome difficulties in learning, igniting their enthusiasm for learning and participating in the competition. At the same time, our university is the only one that has won the "Excellent Organization Unit" Award and the "Excellent Advisor" Award in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Innovation is the primary driving force for development, and protecting intellectual property rights means protecting innovation. In the next step, relying on the National Intellectual Property Information Service Center, the university will actively carry out intellectual property information literacy education, show the talent of intellectual property talents in modern colleges and universities, promote the popularization and high-quality development of basic intellectual property knowledge in colleges and universities, promote students' self-recognition and innovation challenges, and constantly deepen the core concept of intellectual property protection and the level of education and culture. All of these will help us to better create a more open, more active and more dynamic campus atmosphere for intellectual innovation, and strive to contribute to the construction of intellectual property power.
