On May 29, the 12th China Petroleum Engineering Design Competition came to an end. As a sub competition area, our school achieved another success in the competition, winning 1 national first prize, 6 national second prizes, 19 national third prizes, 19 consolation awards and 39 successful competition awards, as well as 1 national second prize and 2 national third prizes for the international track of the scheme design category (comprehensive group). Our school won the excellent organization award.In addition, our school won the second national prize in the petroleum engineering knowledge contest, and won one national first prize, one national second prize, three national third prizes and six excellent awards in the collection of cultural works of petroleum universities.

China Petroleum Engineering Design Competition is an academic competition co-sponsored by the National Committee of China World Petroleum Council, China Petroleum Society and China Petroleum Education Society, and undertaken by China University of Petroleum (Beijing). It integrates academic, creative and communicative features. After 12 years of exploration and practice, at present, it has become the carrier and platform for the academic exchange of petroleum students in the universities and even the world.With the theme of "A remarkable event creates excellence, a grand prospect of the dual carbon depicts new chapter", the competition focuses on the development needs of "dual carbon" in the energy field, closely focuses on the application design of carbon capture, utilization and storage in reservoir development, and promotes the training of "dual carbon" talents and scientific and technological innovation.Experts from China National Petroleum Corporation, China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation, China National Offshore Oil Corporation, Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum (Group) Co., Ltd. and Schlumberger served as judges for the finals.Professor Cao Guangsheng from School of Petroleum Engineering of our University served as the judge of petroleum Engineering Knowledge Contest.More than 6,000 students and 2,000 instructors from 48 universities at home and abroad participated in the competition and submitted 1,218 works.
